Listening Habits
The music that keeps returning while I read, walk, write, and fail to sleep.
Music enters this site indirectly. It rarely becomes the subject of an essay, yet it is present behind many of them: in late-night reading, long walks through Guadalajara, obsessive rewrites, unfinished translations, and the peculiar mood that precedes writing.
The charts below are not a canon of the "best" music I know. They are something more embarrassing and therefore more truthful: a record of recurrence. These are the artists, tracks, and tags I return to when I need company, pressure, or a different kind of silence.
Artists
The artist chart shows the figures who stay with me over time. Some are temporary obsessions. Others become part of the furniture of thought.
Tracks
Tracks are more revealing than artists. A single song can take over a week, a season, sometimes an entire inner climate.
Tags
Tags are the most abstract layer, but they still reveal a pattern of attraction: intensity, mood, genre, atmosphere, the names we give to listening after the fact.
If the essays are one archive of repetition, these charts are another.
