On the life behind this archive of literature, psychoanalysis, politics, and art.
This site began as a developer's website and slowly stopped behaving like one. I still work in software, and the professional version of me is still visible on GitHub and LinkedIn. But the center of the archive moved elsewhere: toward literature, psychoanalysis, painting, politics, exile, and language.
I live in Guadalajara, Mexico. I write in English, Spanish, and Russian, and I carry Arabic as one of those languages that never entirely disappears even when it withdraws from daily speech. That mixture matters here. Much of what I write comes from standing slightly at an angle to the rooms I enter: not fully outside, never fully at home, always translating something.
The longer essays usually begin from a painting, a novel, a city, a private humiliation, or some small obsession that refuses to leave me alone. From there they move toward Freud, Lacan, Kristeva, Marx, Russian literature, or Mexican political life, depending on what the image can bear. I am less interested in commentary than in pressure: what happens when art, biography, history, and the unconscious are allowed to touch the same nerve.
